Plantopia

Plantopia is an outdoor educational venue where children will learn about plants in a way that they will find facinating and enjoyable. This program includes putting their new skills into practice by going on the Plant Plod, an adventure through an acre plot. This venue is suitable for school children from 6 years to 16 years. 

This fun class trip to Plantopia takes approximatley two hours and is split into 4 parts:

  1. The tour - a guided tour through the outdoor classroom where they will learn about plant and flower parts, their uses and what is edible. The tour ends at the examination table where the children will be able to see facinating examples of plants. This tour is specifically designed to educate the children in a fun way and covers the plant section of the biology syllabus for junior and senior primary and high school. 
  2. The Plant Plod - an exciting adventure through an acre of bush where they will have to find and identify unusual and interesting plants.
  3. Fun rides - ride on the Banana Slide and do the Creeper Crawl
  4. Lunch / snack / tuck shop break

Teachers are free, parents R 8.00 a person and children R 16.00. Teachers and drivers get free tea and biscuits. Disount rates apply if more than one venue is visited on the same day. See Prices page.

There is a basic tuck shop available that sells colddrinks, sweets, chips, biltong and fun toys.
