Savage Jungle and Commando Challenge

The Savage Jungle and Commando Challenge is an outdoor educational venue that teaches the children to follow directions, do map and grid work. The venue allows school children from 6 years to 16 years the opportunity to explore a 1 acre maze, while attempting to find hidden points.

The fun class trip to the Savage Jungle and Commando Challenge takes approximatley two hours and is split into 3 parts:

  1. The children are given a map of the maze to study and compare to a master map that shows the correct path through the maze. They are given time to trace the correct path onto their own map and then sent off into the maze in groups. On the way they must locate and identify 9 hidden points, correctly mark them on their map and find the exit. It is a lot of fun. The children just cannot get enough of exploring the Savage Jungle.
  2. The children are split into two groups and sent out to conquer the two Commando Challenges. Here they have to climb, balance on, swing across and cross various obstacles. This physical activity thrills the children so much they become determined to complete the two courses and often show amasing teamwork by going back to help others. In no way is the course dangerous as there are helpers along the way to guide, hold and help to ensure the challenge is enjoyable.
  3. Time is allocated for a lunch / snack / tuck shop break

Teachers are free, parents R 8.00 a person and children R 16.00Teachers and drivers get free tea and biscuits.
